Looking to volunteer at your library? The Middletown branch has a unique opportunity exclusively for middle school and high school students. Volunteens is a group comprised of teen volunteers who meet on the second Monday of every month to assist with a variety of tasks that vary depending on the daily needs of the library.

Tasks that volunteers do include, but are not limited to:

  • Special event preparation
  • Shift/straighten books
  • Prepare crafts for children’s programs
  • Replace book lables and broken DVD/CD cases
  • Sanitize toys, puzzles, tables, keyboards, etc.
  • Make reminder phone calls for upcoming programs
  • Shelf read
  • Change displays and assist with decorations
  • Other projects as assigned

Volunteens is a great way to meet other library enthusiasts and obtain a few school mandated volunteer hours. The group meets for one hour from 4 PM – 5 PM. Please stop by the Middletown branch to pick up the required volunteer paperwork before your first meeting. Call 245-7332 or email Anna.Ruppert@lfpl.org for more information.
